Lego Fire Station 10197 jawaproThu 21/03/2013 11:28 PM
The Lego Fire Station.
I actually got this set ages ago - but had never built it (a modular building set like this takes a couple of nights of solid building). I finally got around to it this week - and let me say, it's awesome.
Although I wanted it for my Modular collection, the set initially didn't appeal to me as much as some of the others (hence why it wasn't built earlier) - probably because it's rather American. But during the build I was won over - these so many awesome techniques in here. Snot, snot, glorious snot!
Thanks to Kane for helping me get this to Australia (sorry it took me so long to build).
I will probably ditch the flag. It's well designed - but it's the wrong flag for my town.
Who needs food? My pantry is awesome!

Is this the smallest turntable in Australia?
It's at the Redwater railway in Sheffield.
It's not a big train - but even so, that's a crazily small turn-table!

Abt Railway...jawaproSat 02/03/2013 12:44 PM
Last week was the annual invasion! My place was once again home to the NoSpoon crew from Hobart for a week long LAN.
This year we did something a little different though. Instead of merely playing games, we took a day off and headed west to Queenstown and rode the might Abt Railway through to Strahan.
Why? Because steam trains! Also, with the recent news that it was closing down, we might not get another chance - so we decided to go.
The more recent news is that the federal government is assisting in keeping the tourist attraction running - so hopefully it won't close. Either way - if you get a chance, head that way and ride the West Coast Wilderness Railway - it's well worth a trip.

Oscar - Testing 33sjawaproSun 17/02/2013 02:01 PM
I borrowed a pair of 33" tyres from Dacey to test-fit them on Oscar.
Looks like I’ll need a little body lift to fit them properly - but they make him look 10 times tougher!
Doing some flex testing down at Johnny’s.
Dacey only has three 33s, so I could only test them on the front or the rear - not both at once. But it’s certainly made me want to get a full set for Oscar!

I am not alone...jawaproSun 17/02/2013 12:37 PM
Word is getting out there about my G60 obsession!
I was contacted by a nice bloke called Philip who had just bought himself a very rusty Shorty with the interesting title of "Spirit of Penguin".
We’re not sure when or why the vehicle was given that name - possibly by the Penguin Surf Life Saving Club, but we haven’t found anything to back that up yet.
Anyway - as well as giving Philip a tour of my collection, I took him up the road to one I knew was for sale (that I hadn’t decided to buy yet) and sure enough, now Philip has two.
I’m not the only G60 nut in Devonport...
