Ok - if you get a headache/migraine, the idea is to take some panadol and try to sleep it off right?
I always thought the panadol was just to dull the pain so you could get to sleep and it was the sleep that did the good.
So what do you do when you're alseep when you get the migraine? I was fine when I went to bed, but I woke up this morning at about 3 with a splitting headache. So much for sleep fixing it...
I took some panadol, sent work an email saying I'd probably be late, and tried to get back to sleep. Eventually I managed to get back to sleep (took ages), and didnt wake up until halfway through the morning, and eventually rocked up to work at noon.
First time I've gotten a migraine while I was asleep. Anyone else managed that little trick?

V8s at Symmons PlainsjawaproMon 01/06/2009 08:57 PM
On Saturday Dad, Klutz, and I headed down to Symmons Plains Raceway to watch the V8s. It’s the first time I’ve been to see them actually competing.
I might have been wearing a red jacket (it was cold) but I was supporting Ford. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good day for Ford - and Holden came first and second. Ford got back on top on Sunday (when we werent there) which is good news.
As well as the V8 race we were all there to see - the supporting acts were pretty good too.
As always - the V8 utes were worth a watch.
The Targa Invitational class was pretty impressive too. Especially the dual between a Ford Falcon and Jason White’s Lambo. They were way in front of the field, and for a while the Ford managed to take the lead - but the Lambo caught him eventually.
The Mini’s weren’t too bad either. Grant Denyer has returned to the competition, but is now competing again Steven Bradbury (yes - the guy the Bradbury Principle is named after).
Unfortunately Denyer and Bradbury came together and Bradbury came off second best (so much for letting everyone else take each other out).
Not everything was on the track either....
After missing them when they buzzed Devonport on Friday - I was really happy that I managed to catch the RAAF Roulettes in action. Those guys are insane!
Not wanting to be shown up by the RAAF, the Army was there too. They had a 6-wheel vehicle called Armygeddon which was a rather pointless truck built to waste tyres.
Suppose it’s exciting if you like tyre smoke.
Of course, Klutz’s first port of call after arriving was to go and check out the XXXX Angels. He said he was disappointed though - as there are more attractive chicks at Uni.
As we had access to the ‘paddock’ we were able to take a stroll around some of the garages - but sadly, the V8 garages are out of bounds.
The Symmon’s Hairpin - the slowest corner in Australian Motorsport.
You’d think everyone knows about that one by now - but we still had a few people go off there - including both Vodaphone 888 cars in qualifying (not at the same time).
It may have been very cold, and not such a good day for a Ford fan - but I still really enjoyed it. The only down side of actually being at the trackside is that it’s rather difficult to work out who’s in the lead and who’s lap traffic. I got lost after about 6 laps. When you throw in mandatory pits stops - it just gets far too hard to keep track of things. Even though we were right next to a loudspeaker - we couldn’t hear a thing while the race was going - those cars are massively loud.
Still - it was a brilliant way to spend a Saturday.

Well - I'm another year older.
Had a good day. Had a pretty epic morning tea come lunch at work, and went home to my parents for a nice tea too (still feeling pretty stuffed!).
Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday messages - they kept coming all day :)
Among other things, I was given tickets to the V8s on the weekend! I'm going with Dad and Klutz. I was also given a Ford jacket, but it hasn't arrived yet (ebay). Hopefully it'll be here by the weekend.
I also got some new cutlery - as I've had a habit of snapping my current ones. These are solid metal, so should stand up to me a little better.
Loopy gave me an Asterix and Obelix book. It's one I've never read or even heard of. It's called "Asterix and the Falling Sky" and involves aliens, time standing still, and a superman clone - and thats only in the first half of the book! Definatly the strangest Asterix I've read so far.
Speaking of which - I'm going to go and finish reading it now (was too tired to finish it last night).

I finally put together the Lego Helicopter I got for Christmas (thanks Grandma!).
As stoked as I was to get some Lego given to me again - I wasn't that terribly excited by the set itself. I sort of considered Lego Creator to be similar to Lego BASIC sets. Lots of standard bricks, designed to get your collection started rather than being overly usefull and exciting on their own.
Turns out I was wrong. The Creator sets might be grouped with BASIC in the catalouges, but they are much more exciting (not that there's anything wrong with BASIC sets - you can always do with extra basic bricks).
Lots of town sets etc these days are cut down on brick numbers, and come with more larger specialised bricks. Instead of building a canopy for a truck - it's a one-piece now etc. That's very annoying, as you can't build much else with it.
The Creator sets fix this - they are full of lots of little pieces. And what's more - the instructions that come with them are for pretty cool sets too. They make use of some quite cool building techniques and styles. I learnt a couple of new techniques (espeically regarding some newer style pieces I've never used before).
If you had two of these sets, you'd have plenty of usefull pieces to build heaps of different models. Far more than you could with the same value of town sets. Unfourtuantly, I'm the sort of person who likes keeping my sets complete (not intact - but complete) - so I'm not sure if I could bring myself to mixing and matching too much.
All in all - it's far better than I originally expected. Plus - it's the first time in a fair while I've just sat down and played with Lego.

In case anyone noticed - my site was down for a while.
It's been a bit iffy for a while now, but it was acutally 'suspended'.
Turns out my host was tacking over another host, and somehow in the mix my account was marked as unpaid and was suspended. I managed to get it back pretty quickly (thanks to having a personal email address for one of the owners).
I'm still planning to move to a server I control properly sometime soon. Full control of the OS - that's what I'd like.
