Oscars Shuddering Update

Ok - well the good news is that we’ve work out why Oscar has been shuddering!

See that round piece of metal hanging on that drive shaft there? It used to be a bearing.

Yep - those are ball bearings in there....

Sadly - these bearings don’t seem to be very common. Both Metro and Repco were scratching their heads when we went to order replacements. Might have to go and talk to Mitsubishi themselves and see how extreme their charges would be for the bearing kit.

But at least we know what was causing the issue - that’s a relief.

I've experienced first hand how much original parts can cost. $50 for a single nut is over the top, but hopefully this bearing will be cheaper than that. Mind you, a bearing is worth more than a nut too, so I'd probably be a bit happier paying more for those. You could always try a wrecker too, they might have some which are second hand. Even though it's used it will be in better condition than yours!

Wait, so that ring used to be a ball bearing? If it did - WOW. That had to hurt.
