The Melbourne Lego Users Group (MUGS) has a monthly competition. This month it’s to turn any Lego set into a Helicopter. The less like a helicopter the original set is, the better. You’re only allowed to use pieces from your chosen set.
So for my entry I turned a Viking set (7021) into a helicopter.
As we all know, Vikings (at least the lego variety) fight dragons. But Dragons can fly, so it’s a little unfair. Enter the Viking Helicopter – the Helirothgar!
The Helirothgar carries two Vikings. One to pilot the craft (using a Viking shield as a steering wheel) and another to man the gatling gun … er… spears.
The main rotor of the Helirothgar spins, but sadly the rear rotor doesn’t.
I didn’t end up using any pieces from the Dragon – so it is still intact and ready to battle against the Helirothgar.
I don’t think it’s too bad for my first attempt at this sort of thing.
