Money makes a house feel real.

This finally feels real.
Going to the bank and signing documents saying you are agreeing to owe them more money than I've ever seen - that has a tendancy to make things feel real.
Before that, it didnt really feel real. Now that I'm agreeing to put half of my income into a house - it's a different story.
Hopefully it wont turn out to be a bad move.

I dont think its a bad move. Having somewhere to live is important. Only having to pay per month on your mortgage is better than adding up 3-4 weeks of rent.

It costs a lot more per month than my rent does - but I actually get something at the end, it's not just wasted money.

I imagine that over the course of your life, buying is a much cheaper option. Not only that, but you're allowed to hang a picture on the wall, where you like, when you like. And do other stupid things like build an extension, upgrade a room or something. Plus you don't need to worry about inspections either. I imagine that would be nice!
