Server Crash Update

Well - after a lot of work (Andrew worked for about 32 hours straight!) it seems that the server is up and running again properly. Personally, I only worked for a measly 16 hours straight. Nothing compared to Tim and Andrew.

We're just doing damage control now (the server has been restored to it's config from late 2006 - so there are plenty of things/users missing that we have to recreate). We were sure we had a more recent backup than that...

Things have calmed down a lot now though. Just a few smallish issues to fix (that we know of).

So after a lot of work, and almost being run over by a fire engine, we seem to be back on course now.

Now I need sleep....

Do you get paid for over time?

strange thing is, last company i worked for. happened the same sort of thing and Andrew spent about the same time fixing the server as well :P

Quite funny having the same name. Is all Andrew's dedicated? But he got over time and i didn't :(

No - I dont get overtime.

But I do get to take time off when I need to. So it all works out fairly well in the end.
