Breif Recap

Thanks to MartianLeader and his crew for another LAN this weekend. I had a blast. Yet more games of Savage under my belt (mostly defeats) - and some good time hanging with friends.

I'll have to invite you guys to Devonport for a LAN soon.

Anyway - in other news, it's less than a week now until I head for the mainland for my Mt Isa trip.

And Rogers has been sold! The local BP in Exeter has been sold, as Roger is retiring. Good luck in the future Rog, we'll miss chatting around the petrol bowsers. Apparently it's not even going to remain a BP - things are a changing in Exeter.

So Nats dad has sold up! That BP is the only servo where I have ever been served fuel for the entirety of my licence holding period. Most you have to get it yourself. Ah, its the end of the era. The last real service station.

There are a couple around (I can think of at least one - in Burnie).

But yes, the days of being able to rock up and say "fill her up mate" are well and truely numbered.

Roger's would have suffered from the cheaper Woolies servo down the road - but we still stopped there some of the time. Sometimes it's worth the extra couple of bucks to get real service and be able to have a chat with Roger or Lyn or whoever was working at the time.

We'll miss it.
