Working From HomeAuthor: jawapro

Well – today was the Devonport Cup, so I had half the day off. So what did I do with my time off – well, something must be wrong with me, because I cleaned.
Yes, I cleaned – stop gagging, it actually happened.
You see, I’ve bought a number of computer games that were on special (normally ones I’d played in the past, but never had a legal copy). That’s all good – but I was running out of space on my shelves – so a clean out was in order.
I threw a lot of stuff away – which makes it even more unusual for me. I must be feeling ill.
I also finally took a decent look at my printer. I’ve had it for a while, but something went wrong during a rather nasty paper jam – and the printer head stopped working. Still haven’t worked out why.
But I have finally gotten a printer going – just a different one.
A while back Terreth (my pastor) was given a laser printer. But alas, his laptop didn’t have a parallel port, and the printer didn’t have usb (and wouldn’t even work with a USB to Parallel adaptor). So I set up a computer called Kermit to share the printer for him, and that worked for a while. But Kermit died a couple of times, so Terreth bought himself a new printer.
He gave me the laser printer – which has been in my cupboard ever since.
Well – in the mean time I’d given away Kermit (and forgotten about it), but I did have another computer, called Gonzo, which I have pressed into service.
So now I use Gonzo here to share the laser printer for my home network. Gonzo is the little white box under my sub-woofer (yes Trojen, it’s your old Trinity server).
So thanks to Gonzo and Terreth, I now have a laser printer. It’s only black and white – but better than nothing.
And in other news, last night I worked from 8 to 11 at night. I remoted in to do some server maintenance. But sadly there is more to be done – so I’m at it again tonight. That’s what the laptop is for. So no-one can say I'm lazy when it comes to work, right....
So that’s what I’ve been up to the last few days. Surely you feel better for knowing that – don’t you?
