Well - it's offical.

I've booked air-fares and gotten my holidays approved. So I'm off to Mount Isa in mid-January.

As an employee of TT-Line, I get a free annual trip on the Spirit. So I'm going over on the ship, spending a day or so with Mr Trojen, and then flying to Mount Isa (via Brisbane) to catch up with Klutz - and driving back down to Tassie from there with him.

And as an extra bonus - we're planning to spend a day or two with Mike (Oblivion) and his family.

It's starting to feel real now that I've actually spent money on it. Really looking forward to it.

I actually had no idea where that was, but now im assuming its still in Australia.

Have you done a lot of traveling before? Or is this first time flying?

My flight is on thursday. I arrive Tas on Saturday. Long flight.

Well, It's a while until you fly, so i should see you sometime next week.
Presents woo... (well lack of them, but a couple :) )

Its in North Queensland - Outback Queensland.

The flights shouldnt be more than a few hours - but the drive back will take a couple of days.

I have flown before - but not for years. I flew to the mainland and back when I was about 5 - and again in 1999 when I would have been about 16. Nothing since then - and never without my parents.

I have traveled on the ship quite a few times though.

Funny the way you keep travelling on the ship...

Anyway, I do have to say that a couple of days (yes, I do understand this isn't really giving a good indication of time, but is only a figure of speech) is a little bit on the short side. As an indication of how long it may take you, it took us 1 week travelling quite a bit per day to make it from Tassie up to the Gold coast. Mind you, I imagine you may have a better clue than me! Meh. Whatever.

Oh, and flying is good. Very good. I do like it a lot.

Just to give you an indication - it took Klutz and his family four days to travel from Melbourne to Isa. And I believe that the last day was only half a day of travelling too.

We're going to take it a bit more easy than that. If you were planning to do it properly and check places out as you went and things - it'd take months. Unfourtuantly we dont have that sort of time.
