New Headlights

My trusty old Subaru has been going well lately - but it´s headlights have always left a lot to be desired. They havent been bright enough - and lately a stone smashed one of the light covers.

I´d already tried putting bigger globes in them, but it kept melting the wiring.

So Dad and I decided to replace the lights themselves - and ordered some new ones through ebay.

So on the weekend Dad and I wired up the new headlights. Personally I think it looks better. And its definatly brighter.

Turns out one of my headlights were wired up backwards anyway. Instead of a single ground and two power cables (high and low) my car has one power and two ground wires. Took a while to work out - but we finally got the new lights going.

The above pic was the old lights - and this is the new. What do you think?

kiknd of looks better but now the side lights look funny.

might be worth changing them also. They just look a little lost on the car.

Um, it looks, well, strange... Perhaps better with different wheels? Those plastic covers just don't cut it with pimped headlight like that!

But if you can see better at night, they are always worth it!

Yeah - the point was that the light would be better at night. Any improvement in appearance was a bonus.

Dad and I are working on making a Roo-bar for the front (stop it from being damaged if I hit wildlife on the road). That'll change the look yet again. Might even mount some driving lights. You cant get too much light when you're driving in the dark.

I was originally considering adding driving lights on the roof - ute style. Still not sure if it'd look better or worse though. Lol.
