The DAKAR is Back!!!

I just checked the TV guide - and SBS is once again showing coverage of the DAKAR at 6:00 each day starting from 7th Jan 07.

I cant wait - this is, as far as I am concerned, the single most important sporting event of any given year.

It´s about 14 days or so of flat out Desert Rally Driving - in 4wds, bikes, and trucks.

Its fantastic. Probably still the hardest rally in the world.

And it makes for some great tellevision.

What do you mean its probably the toughest? Of course it´s the toughest! Definitely!!! And it is easily the most legendary rally anywhere, ever. I think the motorcyclists are insane!

Ah - so another fan. Do you watch the Daily re-caps on SBS? Its about the only time of the year I ever watch SBS at all. The coverage is noramlly pretty good. I was devistated last year when Andy Caldacot died. He was a great rider - and an Aussie too.
