Why so tired....?

When we arrived back from Europe, my sister seemed to be suffering from Jetlag a lot more than me. I was tired from being up so long, but didn't seem to have trouble getting used to the different time zones again.

Unfourtuantly, I didn't really take it easy this last week. The first night Tim and Tom were here, and every night since at least one of them has been around - so I've ended up staying up later than I'd planned. Not too late - only after 11, so it wouldn't normally be a problem - but on top of Jetlag it was probably a mistake.

On Thursday I was asked to do the early shift the following day, so I got an early night. The early shift is only an hour earlier than the regular one.

It all must have caught up with me, because I almost fell asleep at work before the day was out. I had planned to do some shopping after work, but I had to go home and get some sleep first. Today (Saturday) I didn't wake up until almost 11.

Hopefully I'll get over it soon - I dont think sleeping at work would go down too well.

Hah - yeah. What really wouldn't go down well is if you slept on the keyboard - the Spirit would probably go berserk trying to access co-ordinates aweluiglcfkasjdgfwieucaleug...

I'm still jet lagged as well - I probably shouldn't be after being home for what, about ten days, I think... but I am.

Really tired all day and then strangely awake at night.

Doesn't help things when some of your friends decide to kidnap you until after midnight and then some more of your friends want to get together for breakfast the next morning.
Friends are useless, aren't they.

I came to visit you the other day...

Then realised you moved and then realised i didn't have my personal phone on me to call you.

So i gave up, got a drink that that bakery which was below your place, and then drove back to launceston.

By the way i've got 2 P3 x2 cpu IBM servers here at work. Not sure, but do you know a good home for them to go to?

I don't have all the specs, but they have 3 hard drives in each, and are raided together.

Not sure if anyone would pay for them - but I know people who'd probably make use of them if they were being given away.

Pitty you didn't have your phone - I live on the other side of the river now, but it's only about 5 minutes away. Would have been good to catch up.

I don't think i mentioned anything about paying. Its FREEEEEE.

I was going to give them to you. but not sure if you'd need them.
Might be a couple decent HP's coming up soon. Would you know anyone? I'd probably need to make sure the data is destroyed on them first. But that shouldn't be hard to do.

Just no time to do anything right now. stress stress stress. too many jobs and only me to do them.

Send me your address via email
I'm down your way at least a couple times a month now.
Come to think of it, if i know I need to be down that way, ishould come stay over one evening. Or if its a friday, stay on a friday night, and play some games or something.

Got a New computer now. intel E7400, 8 Gig ddr2 800 mhz ram, 250 gig Raptor hard drive from old computer, 9800GTX 512 DDR3 Video card, and 8800 GTS 256 DDR2 dedicated Physics card. Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P Motherboard, Cooler master 530 Case, CORSAIR HX-620W PSU.

Then im running my old computer as a server with a ATI 7450 video card. 200, 750,500,250,750 gig hard drives.

Thinking in time, i'll get rid of tjhe smaller hard drives, and stick in larger ones. as DAM it weighs a ton!
At least i won't get leached off while playing games now. :)

The bad news about that system config is it would require a 64 bit OS, and XP 64 bit sucks, and well, Vista is Vista, not to mention the issues with 64 bit compatibility in games. And the moment you use over 2Gb RAM (save ramdiks and things, they so don't count) I will congratulate you. By the way, how on earth have you got a 9800GTX and a 8800GTS running side by side? Or am I being confused or something?

64 Vista and 32 bit vista, doesn't seem to make any difference. I was concerned about that at the start and then realised it makes noooo difference at all. applications for 32 bit, run at 32 bit, applications at 64 bit, run at 64 bit. and as for vista generally. since service pack 1, its actually pretty dam good. * not as good as windows 7 however *
I've disabled everything under the sun, and that makes all the difference.

As for my 9800GTX+ (forgot to mention the plus last time) and my 8800GTS.
Unless you want SLI, you don't need to worry about using the same card. All you do is put in your 2 video cards as long as they are Nvidia. Go into control panel of the video card and select, which card you'd like to use as a didicated Physics card.

Because Nvidia bought out that Pychic card company, they have made it available to use with any Nvidia hard ware no older then about 2 years i believe.

Its great in games, because one video card just does graphics, and the other just does pysics, so the load on them both is much lower.

PhysX works on any GeForce 8 series or greater. Ie, my 8400 GS up to my 'lil sisters new 9800 GTX. You can also run CUDA compiled c code. The cards have been used to speed up brute force hacking.

Here is a screen shot with quad sli bruteforcing:

Note the 3611.81 MHash/Sec

That makes it 3.6 billion hash attempts per second.
