Is Bigfoot as fake as the Olympics?

I have been trying pretty hard, and managing to ignore almost all of the Olympics since the Opening Ceremony (which I only watched because I was invited to a friends place to watch).

But it turns out that half of it was faked anyway.

Those impressive fireworks of Godzilla’s footprints marching up to the arena - they were generated on a computer. When we saw it on the Opening Ceremony, I remember thinking the pilot in the chopper/plane did a good job filming it all. Well - there was no pilot, just some animators on a computer somewhere.
Apparently the fireworks did exist (apparently) - but the footage was faked.

And then there was the little girl singing. The song itself was completely forgettable - so the only thing that made it stick in your memory was the fact that she was obviously lip-syncing. The whole room commented on it when we were watching the ceremony.

Now - that would have been ok. But it gets worse. She wasn’t even the one singing it! The recording was from another girl who was originally going to sing, but the Chinese decided she wasn’t pretty enough.

Added to that some rent-a-crowds and children supposedly from minority groups who were just actors - Beijing is doing a pretty good job of being a Fake Olympics.

But speaking of fakes - some dudes in the good old US of A have apparently found a Bigfoot body and stuffed it in their freezer.

Of course - 90% of the world thinks it’s a hoax. They have changed their story so many times it’s almost impossible to believe them. But wouldn’t it be awesome if they actually did have an unknown species of American Ape in their freezer.

Just so they can say "Screw you - here's the body" and show it to the world. The world would have to stop calling people like this crazy and eat their own words. That would just be cool.

Personally - I’m not convinced that there’s not an unknown Ape in America (and other parts of the world with similar stories) - but I’m not at all convinced there is one either.

The American duo (plus another Bigfoot hunter they’ve roped in) are planning to release more evidence today, but somehow I doubt it’s going to prove anything.

Put it this way - the Olympics have been confirmed as a fake. Bigfoot at least might be real...

I know! they hav really stuffed up the olympics. this one is going to have the lowest popularity, tv viewings, and attendance records since ever, I reckon......

And yeah, while there is not any conclusive evidence of bigfoot existing, its definitely possible. Just like while there arnt any aliens like in the films, there could be alien bacteria and possibly small animals. Or thats what I think. *plz dont hurt me... :(*

why make a big deal about it? it wasn't fake. the fireworks was the practice run from the night before, exactly the same no difference, and this was because it was cloudy on the real night. then it wouldn't have looked very good to anyone outside the stadium.

As for the girl singing. LIKE THAT MATTERS. she's an actor. like any other actors. she doesn't need to be the voice of the girl.

Nothing fake about the olympics. that was the opening anyway. You don't go to hollywood and go shit. this is all fake,! thats it, im making a big fuss about it.

as for the monkey. again who cares. its probably something made by man, its not like where in the 18 hundreds now. Its pretty easy to rebuild animals to look like anything.

The whole point of the Olympics should be looked in another way. China is the most polluted country in the world. With the Olympics it is now cleaner, water ways cleaned, pollution cleaned. The Old factories moved outside the city and new equipment put in producing cleaner products.

The parks created for the Olympics is created out of recycled water, which is naturally through plant filtration cleans the water, and provides clean water for the park. The park is 4 times the size of the America’s central park. It provides cleaner air for the city using the huge amount of tree’s planted, and cleans the water instead of dumping it into the sea.

Cars on the road have been taken off which don’t meet the recognised pollution statistics which are legal in the country. (would be nice if they did that in Tasmania)

Why look at a stupid little girl not singing and fireworks from the night before. My mean Jesus! Get a grip!

Nifen nifen nifen..... youve fallen for their propaganda hook, line and sinker. Oh and rod too. You cant believe everything you read; youve got to figure things out for yourself and, while youre free to believe what you want, should challenge what youre told to find the truth.

Nifen - either I believe you - or I beleive the world's news reports. Now granted, I dont really trust the news all that far either - but as you've contradicted yourself within 3 posts - I'll go with the news.

The fireworks were computer graphics. Not just the night before.

You said it was cloudy, and then said it had clear skies - make up your mind.

There were fireworks - I never said there weren't. I did say that what we were showed was fake. It was.

Do we care about the little girl not singing? Well - not really - it was a pretty lame song anyway. You do have to feel sorry for the original singer though - she was kicked out a few days before the ceremony (might have been the night before, not sure) just cause she wasn't cute enough. That's gotta hurt.

The Chinese (and the supposedly cuter girl) were lapping up all the praise for the singing too - until someone finally spilled the beans about the other girl.

If you go to see a movie and something's faked - well that's fine. That's what you expect. But the Olympics are different. I dont even like the Olympics, and I can see that.

Otherwise why not let the athelets use drugs. Why not put hidden motors in the sailing boats and bikes etc? Why not have invisible cables pulling the swimmers through the water? It'd all be fake, but it'd look good.

I suppose the Chinese realised they wouldn't get away with going that far....

He he, let the athlete's use drugs. That's not as far from the truth as you think it might be... I'm suspicous of a few different nations, (especially China, mind you, with 1 billion+ people to choose from, they should have some talent somewhere...) as being drug cheats. Speaking of which, there's a few interesting rumours going around, about winners of Gold's not being tested, etc. But hey, hype hype hype.

And yes, the fireworks wore ComGen. Mind you, they were good, with even the weather depicted being realisitic from the actual weather, and the official reason they didn't just use the real fireworks (which have been confirmed to have been acutally done...) was because it put the Chopper in too great a danger. Mind you, I'm not sure whether I believe that one or not. Nice ploy though, and why wouldn't you use the real fireworks that were still fired off if you could?

Anyway, the "lame song" the little girl was singing/lip syncing was the Chinese National Anthem. That in and of itself puts a slightly different spin on it. And how harsh is it, if somebody reckons you can sing for it, you do all the rehearsals, and then they decide you're too old and ugly, and some pretty, yet coarse sounding girl takes your place. Don't go on about national pride there, the girl who got kicked out is going to be devastated. Seriously, it doesn't get much nastier than that.

But more importantly (well, maybe not actually, but hey, still importantly), one of the computer's running the displays round the top of the Bird's Nest BSoD'd during the Opening Ceremony. More interestingly, it was XP, not Vista. Even the Chinese know what's good for them...
