Poor Phaeton

My poor computer (Phaeton) is now only running on a single Gig of RAM. Thats the same as my old JadesFire WAS when it was new - even it was upgraded to a Gig and a half a few months ago.

Why would I buy a good computer and only a Gig of RAM?

Well - I didnt.

I bought 4 Gigs of RAM.

But 2 sticks were faulty. So I've been running on 2 while I negotiated getting them replaced.

But the bad news is that the RAM came in 2 pairs, and to get it replaced, you need to send the matching pairs back to the shop.

And wouldnt you know it - I had a faulty stick from each pair.

So I finally got organized and have sent off the first pair (one faulty and one not). When they replace it, I'll be able to use the good ram, while I send off the second pair.

Must be pretty odd to get a 50% fail rate. Hopefully the next lot will be better.

And yes, that picture is of me under the desk, keeping my computer company.

Its on as much an angle as my floor.

Which is a lot less than my camera was on when I took that photo.
