The non-existent Mr Dent.

At work we recently disposed of a number of old computers. Some we sent to an e-waste specialist to dispose of (they had faulty heat-sinks) but a few of the better ones we sold to employees.

We sent an email out to offer people the computers, and we got a lot of responses. We had two sorts of computers, older ones for $50, and not-quite-so-old ones for $80. We only had a handful of $80 ones, but we had over 30 people ask for one.

So we ended up drawing names from a hat.

My boss (Clinton) had basically put me in charge of the sale process, so I’d recorded most of the names – but one or two had contacted Clinton directly, and he’d recorded the names.

And one of them won a computer (or more accurately, the chance to buy a computer).

His name was Mr Dent.

Which of course reminded me of Arthur Dent from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (see photo).

Our Mr Dent doesn’t hold a position where he can be contacted directly, so we sent an email to his superior and asked him to pass it on. And yes, I’m not saying his job, just in case it’s a break of privacy (same with his first name).

Anyway, we sent the email to Mr Dent’s boss, and waited for him to collect the computer.

That was a few weeks ago.

All the other computers were collected, but this one is still sitting on Andrew’s desk. He’s been on leave, but is about to come back, and will probably want to use his desk again.

So we decided to chase Mr Dent up and see where he was.

But a trip to the crewing office didn’t help things. They didn’t even have a Mr Dent on their records at all.

Turns out Mr Dent doesn’t exist.

So I had to then get Clinton to call someone else who’d originally introduced him to Mr Dent and ask what his name really was.

Apparently Clinton’s handwriting is like mine, and barely readable. The correct name was Mr. Dart.

So with the correct name, I was able to track him down. He won’t be able to collect the PC for a while yet – so we’ll have to move it somewhere else in the meantime. Although, I’m tempted to replace Andrews new PC with this old one, and see what he says.

So that's the tale of the non-existent Mr Dent.

I believe i'm just confused in what i should say.

Sounds nearly as exciting as my life, But its better to read it on here, then just not to read anything. :)

I'm right now, enjoying suffering from back pain, I'm not sure what i've done, Yes i carry kids about on my back, help with gymnastics, take them for swimming, and generally get used as the basic butler model. But I don't believe its that which is causing my pain. I was also feeling a bit like throwing up, and now pain all over, soo i believe i have a virus which is increasing the pain i'm already suffering from my back.

I have my leaving doo tomorrow, which will be interesting, as the only people i really truly know is my sister and her boyfriend oh and my cousins here. Everyone else is more there friends :P I didn't bother inviting anyone that i actually knew. Didn't see the point, I could have invited my work mates (ex mates) but that would suck as i'd have to spend time with them. Or i could invite my ex girlfriend and her flat mate and daughter, But then i'd have to spend time with my ex girlfriend. I did try to invite my flat mate but he's away this weekend (then again i don't believe its his sort of party.)

So instead i'll have a bunch of kids that i dont really know, and don't really care about to a party which will be interesting, but as i'm not really into partys, I think i'll probably just fall asleep on the couch.

Well thats my life, Arn't you glad i commented now :)

But sorry if my life isnt very interesting.

Actually, it was ok, I only tried to escape 3 or 4 times, but then ended up giving up, talking to the adults, and ended up playing with the kids all night.

I had my Nails Painted, My hands painted (mostly as they weren’t doing a very good on my fingers and i was complaining, so it was all out war on my hands then) Luckily i found nail polish remover a few hours later, otherwise I’d be still have blue nail's.
Then I ended up having blue glitter all over me, its oil based, I'm not sure what your meant to use it on, maybe lip balm or maybe paper or maybe skin if your crazy. But it took FOREVER to wash off, I was tempted to use bleach it was stuck so hard.
The blue glitter crap was all over my hands, my jumper, my Arms... Hell it was even on my face. Pined down and attacked from all sides, 2 girls, 1 boy.

But overall it was a good night, I ended up watching Bee, which was great. Only thing is that; I! was the one that was laughing all through it, none of the kids laughed as much. (I think I’m the child when that happens)

(still better then talking to the adults about there own kids)

Some advice, ignore most of what Nifen says most of the time.
